With 39 rooms and over 20,000 square feet of interior space, Craigdarroch Castle is the perfect vacation (or staycation!) experience for everyone. You’ll find us just off Fort Street at 1050 Joan Crescent just a short drive or leisurely walk from Victoria’s inner harbour.

Greater Victoria Public Library cardholders can now visit one of Canada’s most treasured historical sites for free just by borrowing a Craigdarroch Castle ePass from the library. The pass provides free general admission to Craigdarroch Castle for two adults and two youth (ages 6-18), and children under five are free. Passes are valid for seven days and can be redeemed for a single visit. For detail please follow the link to the GVPL website.
With advance notice and minimum group size of 15 (10 for student groups), we provide a reduced admission rate. Group tours also receive an enhanced self-guided tour that allows everyone to take full advantage of all the Castle has to offer at their own pace.

Robert and Joan Dunsmuir had two sons, eight daughters and plenty of exploits. The Castle weaves a fascinating tale of this intriguing family – their achievements, their relationships and even their quirks.
Built by coal baron Robert Dunsmuir during the reign of Queen Victoria and now a National Historic Site, Craigdarroch Castle has been meticulously restored, giving visitors a glimpse of privileged life in the 1890s.
We are open daily from 10am – 4:30pm, with extended hours from June 15th to September 6th (9am – 7pm). (Please note that we are closed December 25th, 26th and January 1st)
