Facility Maintenance Technician
Facility Maintenance Technician
Union Position with CUPE Local 3136
Rate $32.46 per hour
36 hours per week – Days, Evenings, Weekends
Located in Victoria BC, Craigdarroch Castle is a Historic House Museum that is open year-round and welcomes 100,000 visitors each year. You will be joining a team of tourism and museum industry professionals supported by several volunteers.
Reporting to the building conservation and facilities manager, and working closely with all departments, the facility maintenance technician provides critical support to facility operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance, housekeeping, and janitorial duties for all four Society properties and possesses the experience and skills necessary to support housekeepers in their duties. They will oversee proper maintenance and storage of supplies, equipment and machinery pertaining to maintenance, restoration and grounds keeping and will assist with general rental property maintenance.
Safety and security tasks are also part of this position’s responsibilities and candidates should have working knowledge of building security and alarm systems.
